Kosher Soul Food Shabbat Dinner - January 2015
Food for the Soul, and Soul Food, Friday, January 16 at 6:30 PM -- Michael Twitty, our kosher soul food guest chef and southern food historian, prepared BBQ chicken, matzoh ball gumbo, tzimmes sweet potatoes and all the trimmings for a noteworthy Shabbat dinner to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This event, for 200, was expanded to 250 and still sold out. These photos were taken before Shabbat started, so are confined to the preparations.
A hearty Todah Rabbah to organizers Susan Moskowitz, Sheri Cerny, Gail Shor and the more than 40 congregants of all ages who helped cook, set up and serve the dinner!
