Good Deeds Day - April 2014
Thank you….Another Wonderful Mitzvah!
Our volunteers gathered at CBE, Gesher Jewish Day School and the Hunters Woods Fellowship House (HWFH) on April 6th to participate in numerous activities to benefit those in need in the greater Washington area. These included:
Gesher: Making dry "Friendship Soup" kits for food banks and assisted living facilities in the Northern Virginia area.
HWFH: Teamed with residents to prepare sandwich meals for the Embry Rucker Shelter, hosted a Tea with live musical entertainment including the CBE Chorale, built two raised soil beds for residents to plant flowers and vegetables and installed shower head extensions for residents with disabilities.
CBE: Blood drive, also K-1st Grade Mifgash assembled snack bags to accompany the sandwiches for Embry Rucker Shelter.
